April 11, 2019 Minutes

Fiscal Courtroom, Woodford County Courthouse 6:30 pm

Regular Meeting

Present: Jorge Espinoza, Kyle Fanning, Mary Nehring, Daniel Brown, Darlene Jackson, Tim Middleton

Absent:

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by Chairperson Mary Nehring.

Approval of the Agenda: Tim Middleton made motion to approve agenda and Darlene Jackson seconded the motion. Agenda was approved.

Approval of Minutes: Moved for approval by Kyle Fanninn, Tim Middleton seconded the motion….

Treasurer’s Report was for informational purposes only.

Old Business:

  1. We need to send a Thank You Gift Card to Annette Muniz ($30 gift card)

  2. Debit Card/Website and Email Account Bills: Dan advised these accounts are on his credit card and they need to be removed and suggested we get a debit card. Kyle advised he has tried to information at Community Trust to get his name on the checking account. He advised we need to get one more person’s name on the account. Mary Raglin and Mary Nehring need to be added to the checking account.

  3. By-Law Amendment to Include Electronic Attendance. Kyle suggested by laws be amended to include an attendance percentage (4 out of 6 meetings).

  4. Woodford County High School Liaisons to the Human Rights Commission: Dan had a person but she transferred out of Woodford County High School District. Kyle has someone in mind who is thinking about it.

  5. Woodford County High School African American Reading Scores: Tim went to a meeting and will creating a committee. He will be staying in contact for updated information. He advised that Syvester Howard is on the committee.

  1. 2019 Twilight Festival on August 24, 2019 from 3:00-9:00 pm. Will have promotional items such as pens, bags, etc. HRC information. We need to set up our HRC tent. Kyle will be doing the pre-registration

  1. Midway 2019 Yearly Event/HRC Information Distribution MidSummer Nights in Midway. Dan made motion we attend the June 28 MidSummer Nights in Midway. Tim Middleton seconded the motion. Dan will purchase a banner for HRC and a sign up set will be developed for those who can be there.

  1. Requesting of Continued Funding from Versailles, Midway, Woodford County

  1. June 6, 2019 HRC Meeting in Midway. Mary Raglin will check with Mayor to make sure date is open.

NEW BUSINESS

HRC Scholarship Coordinator ….Peggy Carter Seals wants to resign from the committee and wants someone else to step up and take over scholarship funding. Darlene Jackson and Tim Middleton will assume the scholarship coordination for Ms. Peggy Carter Seals.

Next meeting will be June 6, 2019 at Midway City Hall.

Mary Raglin moved the meeting be adjourned.
